Modernist side table from France circa 1940. The circular top is veneered in spectacular mahogany to create a starburst pattern. All four legs possess the unique shape of a taper and inverted taper joined by a ring of three horizontal bands. The legs are joined at the base by a substantial “X” shaped stretcher providing stability and support as well as balancing the powerful overall design.
