Delicate Empire ladies' secretaire on elegant C-shaped legs with an intermediate joint. The body rises above with a narrow front drawer with small inner compartments. The concave tabletop is fitted with further drawers on the narrow sides. The three-part top with a central arcade-shaped compartment is divided by partially gilded caryatid pilasters. The central door folds down, while the two outer compartments are designed as deep drawers. The fine inlay work with ink painting depicts muses with rosaries. The round arch is surrounded by fine bronze beadwork and decorated with further marquetry work in the form of coiled snakes. The secretaire is veneered in mahogany and is in its first, museum-like condition.
