Pyramid Secretary, Southwestern Germany, 1835
Biedermeier secretary with pyramidal case. The piece rests on plinth legs and features three drawers of varying heights in the lower section. The flat writing flap is decorated with a recessed panel. The top is crowned by a flat, slightly curved cornice with profiled edge. The interior arrangement comprises seven drawers surrounding a central compartment with a stylized round arch, complemented by letter slots and a wide upper compartment. The writing surface has been newly covered in black faux leather. The secretary is veneered in flamed maple root and has been restored.
